RCEP-REGIONAL COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC PARTNERSHIP: news and future developments for our companies

As part of the activities carried out with the Asia Club, the Italian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce organizes an in-depth webinar on the RCEP-REGIONAL COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC PARTNERSHIP agreement. The purpose of the meeting is to illustrate the dynamics underlying the birth of economic and commercial relations between the countries of East Asia, South - East Asia and the Pacific area. It will also be an opportunity to discuss the influence that the agreement exerts on global economies, in an attempt to anticipate what the future implications may be.

On November 15, during the ASEAN autumn summit, the RCEP agreement was signed. The countries involved in the Asian regional organization plus China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand have committed to sign, after eight years of negotiations, an agreement that aims to support the growth and economic development of this area. . Among the main objectives are those of creating an area of economic cooperation, aiming to increase world GDP by $ 209 billion and international trade by $ 500 billion by 2030. In addition, the agreement is estimated to eliminate up to 90% of intra-area trade tariffs.

In this scenario, China plays a fundamental role. In recent years, Beijing has strengthened its relations with the ASEAN countries, which today is China's first trading partner, thus overtaking even the United States.

It is therefore essential to stay updated on what is happening internationally and participating in the webinar is certainly a useful way to deepen these issues. The meeting will be introduced by Marco Bettin, Secretary General of the Italy China Chamber of Commerce.

The following will also speak:

Benedetto Latteri, Ambassador of Italy to Indonesia and Italian representative at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)
Silvia Guizzo, Asia Emerging Economist, Studies and Research Department, Intesa Sanpaolo
During the meeting there will also be the opportunity to listen to a valuable company testimony.
