Sino-Italy Economic Cooperation Networking Event in Xi'an


The year of Italy-China culture and tourism began with the Conference on economic cooperation and exchanges between China and Italy 2020, which was held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Xi'an on January 9th. Over one hundred attendees at the event, including our General Manager Vincenzo Petrone, Qi Haibing, Director of the Xi'an High Technology Zone Management Committee, Yao Jinchuan, Deputy Director of the Provincial Office for Foreign Affairs, Gu Haiwen, Director of the Xi'an High Tech Zone Management Committee, Vincenzo Lipardi, CEO of the Steel Incubator (SPICI), Marco Tortoioli Ricci, President of the Italian Association for Visual Communication (AIAP); Xi'an International Trade Promotion Association, Municipal Office for Foreign Affairs; Xi'an High-Tech Group, Liangjiatan International School and other representatives of Chinese and Italian governments, representatives of institutions, businesses and universities, as well as Chinese and foreign media, such as China Daily, Shaanxi Daily, Xi'an Daily, Phoenix Shaanxi, That's Beijing and others.
The meeting took place during a dinner organized by the management of the Chic group. Vincenzo Petrone, General Manager of the Italy China Foundation (FIC), gave a welcome speech. In his speech, he said that the FIC is the only non-profit and non-governmental organization in support of bilateral cooperation between the Italian and Chinese governments, which promotes the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, in support of imports and exports between China and Italy, as well as cooperation in various activities between Chinese and Italian governments and businesses, fully promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in various sectors such as politics, economy, culture, education and health.In the next year - confirmed Petrone - the Italy-China Foundation will collaborate, as always, with Chic Group to carry out a series of international activities, such as the second Sino-Italian fashion industry innovation forum to be held in Xi'an : Director Petrone has invited the Xi'an government and its high tech area to visit Italy. The Italy-China Foundation will make every effort to promote Xi'an's investment environment for Italian companies and will insert a special chapter on Xi'an in the Foundation's Annual Report, which will be presented by the middle of the year. Petrone also invited Xi'an's leading leaders and companies to participate in the EU-China Industrial Forum, which promotes long-term reciprocal visits and coordination mechanisms for industrial cooperation, to engage in active dialogue with the high- tech of Xi'an, the city of Xi'an and the province of Shaanxi for a new long-term cooperation between China and Italy.

Haiwen Gu, deputy Director of the Steering Committee of the Hi-tech Zone of Xi'an, in his speech underlined the exceptional contributions made by the Italy China Foundation and the Chic Group in recent years, in particular for the cooperation between China and Italy and the areas high tech. Large-scale industrial innovation projects such as China-Italy Fashion Town, China-Europe Cultural Tourism Town and China-Italy Hard Technology Industrial Park. The high-tech zone is not only the host of China-Italy industrial and economic cooperation projects, but also the direct beneficiary of the friendly relations between the two countries. The high-tech zone will constantly promote various Sino-Italian cooperation projects under the guidance of provincial and municipal governments and the state, with the help of associations for friendship between the two countries.

Subsequently, Charles Fischer, president of the Chic group, and Helen Tu, member of the board of directors of the Italy China Foundation, and executive director of the Chic group, took the stage: Chic entered the Chinese market in 2009 and set up its based in China in Shanghai. He arrived in Xi'an in 2017 and has developed rapidly in just two years. He has invested in the creation and organization of the fashion city of Xi'an and the city of cultural tourism CEIBS, the Sino-Italian industrial park of hard technology and other innovative projects. The Chic Group has rich cooperation resources in Italy and abroad: it has a good relationship of collaboration with Lego, Ferrari, etc. In 2019 he collaborated with the organizer of Milan Fashion Week, the Italian National Chamber of Commerce (CNMI), in the fashion week project and won the certification of exclusive agency of China issued by CNMI; recently signed a cooperation agreement with the Mondadori publishing group and the Umbria Music Festival in Italy, accompanying various Italian industries in the Chinese market.

In the future, they announced, the Chic Group will continue to focus on "open and enlightened, innovative and entrepreneurial" policy for the creation of XI'an businesses and will fully combine the good investment environment with safe and rich strength and activity. business to invite more internationally renowned companies to invest in Xi'an and attract more talent to the city, which will contribute to Xi'an's "chic" development.
During the dinner, the guests had in-depth exchanges on the development prospects and trends of China-Italy cooperation in various sectors and on how to promote the strategic partnership between Chinese and Italian companies or institutions, an exchange that promoted the atmosphere of the dinner and had numerous moments of consent. The guests expressed their appreciation to the Italy-China Foundation and to the Chic Group for organizing the event. They will also actively support future events in the wave of cooperation between China and Italy under the Belt and Road initiative.

At the end of the banquet, several media outlets interviewed the guests' representatives. "The Belt and Road Initiative will bring enormous changes in all the main regions of the world. This is a great strategic project to promote international cooperation aimed at connecting economies and people from different parts of the world" - said Vincenzo Petrone, General Manager of the Italy China Foundation -. He also said that every time he comes to Xi'an, he is shocked by the rapid development and vitality of the city. He believes Xi'an has many advantages and great potential in terms of resources, talents and transportation. He believes that the ancient millennial capital will quickly become another international metropolis in China. Vincenzo Petrone said that on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the creation of diplomatic relations between China and Italy, the Italy-China Foundation hopes to make a great contribution, together with Chic Group, to export more Italian industrial resources and promote the economy, culture Sino-Italian tourism and education together with Xi'an, supporting multiple exchanges and cooperation in various fields of science and technology.

Vincenzo Lipardi, CEO of the New Steel Incubator of Campania (SPICI), and Marco Tortoioli Ricci, president of the Italian Association for Visual Communication (AIAP), said in an interview that under the support of the Belt and Road Initiative, companies Italians are aiming for bilateral cooperation with the Shaanxi province and to fully enjoy the profits of the BIS. As strategic partner of Chic Group in the technology sector, SPICI will collaborate with Chic Group in the development of platforms for the Sino-Italian scientific and technological industry, Sino-Italian centers of scientific and technological talent, technology incubators and development of joint projects Sino-Italians to promote the development of the high-tech area of ​​Xi'an. Italy China Foundation and Chic Group jointly organized a visit for an Italian delegation of thirty representatives. During the trip, they were able to discover Xi'an's high technology, fashion design, architectural design and other areas. They had meetings with the Xi'an Museum and the Liangjiatan International School, where they began dialogue in many aspects and fields to promote the rapid development of cooperation projects between China and Italy in the field.
