Belt and Road Trade and Investment Forum, in Beijing


The "Belt and Road Trade and Investment Forum" was held on Thursday 12 April in Beijing. The event - organized by the World Chambers Federation, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPI) and China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) - involved more than 600 participants from 70 countries and regions located along the New Silk Road.  Among the issues under discussion, investment opportunities along the Belt and Road, trade and e-commerce, infrastructure and connectivity, but also topics such as risk prevention and dispute resolution. 
In 2017, according to the National Bureau of Statistics, the volume of trade between China and the countries along the Belt and Road reached 7.4 trillion yuan (about 1.2 trillion dollars), with a surge of 17.8% year after year , exceeding the 14.2% growth recorded in China's total foreign trade last year.
To represent the Italy China Foundation, the General Manager Margherita Barberis and the Chief Operations Officer Marco Bettin. The project follows the "Belt and Road Forum" of Trieste, organized by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region with the Council for the promotion of the international trade (Ccpit) and the China chamber of international commerce (Ccoic), the two government bodies for the promotion of trade and international exchanges, together with the Italy China Foundation and the Italian- Chinese Chamber of Commerce, with the support of the InCe (Central European Initiative), the Eastern Adriatic Sea Authority Authority Authority and the Unido.
